I believe I copied this image long ago from the original manuscript of Ernie Teagle's history of McCleary, "Out of the Woods." He did not use the graphic in the final published version. The manuscript can be found in the files of the McCleary Museum.
This was cool to read. "Uncle" Ernie was my great-uncle. My father (Harry Teagle) used to tell me stories as a kid of growing up in McCleary. He and his brothers/friends used to go into the woods to gather up some type of bark that they would sell (can't recall the reason though) and they would happen across stills occasionally.

ReplyDeleteHave you written up those stories? I'd love to hear more!
DeleteWonder if the bark was cascara bark.
