There are high levels of manganese, which is not a health concern, but it's an aesthetic concern because it creates an odor and a stain on fixtures.
If money is available they will be able to start work on replacing well components next spring. I hope the funds do come through. The water in McCleary is drinkable but sometimes it does have a strong smell. The hard water is also hard on skin, some people get rashes from it. Sinks get stained, fixtures get eaten, coffee pots wear out faster.
Although there are some solutions. Epsom salts can help in the bath. I could use bottled water for the coffee pot. I need to look into water softeners for laundry too.
I can't even stand the taste so I am forced to buy bottled water. Worse yet, I come out of the shower smellier than when I went in! Glad to hear they may be working toward fixing the water issue!
ReplyDeleteWe are buying water now too. And I wonder if the forehead rash I've developed has something to do with the water, hard water can cause dermatitis.
ReplyDeleteWas out at Ocean Shores recently and noticed that their water isn't any better, just is a different kind of badness. Tasted bad but seemed softer on skin. Wonder who has best water in Grays Harbor.
